Earlier this year, Amsterdam Data Science signed a memorandum of understanding with a consortium of a major university, Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST), and three hospitals in Wuhan, China. All of these hospitals have full electronic medical health records and are very motivated to collaborate with high-calibre data scientists in Amsterdam.
This collaboration agreement is the result of a number of research visits in both directions over the past years. ADS stands to benefit from access to medical data in the three hospitals which are all affiliated to WUST: Tianyou Hospital (the largest community health-center in Hubei province), Wuhan Asian Heart Disease Hospital (one of the leading heart disease hospitals in Asia), and Hanyang Hospital.
With over 10 million inhabitants, Wuhan is a major and fast growing economic hub in central China, with excellent connections by air and high-speed rail to both Beijing and Shanghai.
We have identified opportunities for collaboration for a number of ADS researchers in diverse areas such as data mining, machine learning, image analysis, bioinformatics and semantics, and we are currently in the business of approaching individual researchers within ADS.
