The Big Data Revolution offers new opportunities but also poses challenges in the way we deal with reliability in an industrial setting. Dealing appropriately with these challenges and making good use of the new opportunities are not trivial. Sharing best practices, informing each other about state-of-the-art knowledge as well as identifying common challenges across companies may be very beneficial.
In view of this Eindhoven University of Technology and Philips Lighting wish to start a Reliability & Big Data Platform with a limited number of selected companies. You are invited to join.
The goals of the platform are:
- Sharing best practices
- Informing each about state-of-the-art knowledge
- Identifying common challenges
- Preparing and submitting project proposals (Dutch government, European Union) to address common reliability challenges
The plans for the near future include a face-to-face meeting at the Eindhoven University of Technology to get acquainted, define next steps and make concrete plans. Concrete plans may be connected to item 4. In particular, we would like to mention the STW Perspectief call for which we could prepare a proposal (http://www.stw.nl/nl/perspectief ) as well as an upcoming call (http://www.nwo.nl/onderzoek-en-resultaten/programmas/kia+ict/call+informatie in the Commit2Data plan (https://www.dutchdigitaldelta.nl/en/commit2data).
