MSc students win First Prize and 5000 EUR at the Legal Intelligence Hackaton

Three MSc students in the Data Science specialisation teamed up with two alumni from the same programme to participate as From RU with Love in the Legal Intelligence Hackaton, and took home the First Prize of 5000 EUR.

Bas van Berkel, Chris Kamphuis, Timo van Niedek, Joris van Vugt and Guido Zuidhof prototyped the tool Leegle that uncovers relationships between legal documents and the law. The UI gives lawyers a clear insight into the documents that refer to each other and those that have been visited by many other lawyers.
