The awards for Netherland’s best data scientists will -with great pride- be presented at Thursday, the 13th of June, by the Big Data Alliance. The ceremony will take place in Den Bosch at the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS). A keynote speech will be provided by Victor Mayer-Schönberger, Oxford professor of the Oxford Internet Institute. He will present an inspiring and even somewhat warning speech about the enemies of data-rich markets. An interactive panel will take place after the speech about the topic of ‘Positive and negative aspects of the US and Asian “BigTech” platforms, data and algorithms for the European economy and for the European safety’. The panel will take questions of the crowd and consists out of, among others, prof. Mayer-Schönberger, prof. Founders Dutch Data Science Awards and sponsors
The KHMW, is the oldest scientific society of the Netherlands. It is founded in 1752 to improve science and build bridges between society and scientific research. The Big Data Alliance (BDA) is founded in 2015 in order to enhance cooperation between companies, universities and think tanks. The goal of the BDA to share knowledge, expertise and stimulate innovation in data science. The KHMW and BDA are the founders of the Dutch Data Science Awards. They’re sponsored by the Universiteit van Amsterdam, AIMMS, Lubbers de Jong, Elsevier, ORACLE and ORTEC, all organizations and companies with a strong focus on tech.
