Iris van Beuzekom is a PhD-candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in Electrical Energy Systems. Her research focuses on optimizing the design and implementation of integrated energy systems to enable large-scale renewable energy integration at city level. She also works at ORTEC as sustainability analytics consultant and business developer. In that role, she has helped launch the Big Data Alliance and currently supports the Smart Energy program.
In 2008 Iris received her BSc in Sustainable Molecular Science & Technology (Chemical Engineering dpt.) from Delft University of Technology & Leiden University. In 2010 she graduated as MSc in Atmosphere and Energy (Civil and Environmental Engineering dpt.) at Stanford University. Afterwards she worked at Grontmij and then Priva, gaining experience in the implementation of sustainable development in waste water treatment, energy, building and greenhouse automation, smart grids and urban farming.
