Javed Khan would characterize hisself as an HCI researcher with a focus on crowdsourcing. On his PhD he worked on novel mobile and pervasive applications for intra-family communication as well as, on a methodological side, improve the experience sampling method. On his PostDoc he applied some of the methodological findings to support patients suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. Currently his research activities can be captured in the following title: Design for Crowdsourcing & Crowdsourcing for Design. What he means with the first part is how designers can improve existing crowdsourcing platforms and by the second part he is interested in developing crowdsourcing platforms to support designers. Past research activities included context-ware computing and evaluation of location-based services with the help of a mixed-reality setup. He is assistant professor at the Industrial Design Department of Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and founding member of Ambianti.
